three-part series on Jewish classical song entitled Colors of the Diaspora.

Narrated on-screen by operatic legend Regina Resnik, and illuminated by inspired
graphics and English subtitles, Covert or Convert pays homage to Jewish composers
who converted to Christianity but who wrote on Jewish themes, and the composers who
did not convert, but wrote on Jewish themes in secret, often at the risk of their

Friends of Danny Concert tour kickoff

Concert
FOD is an acronym for Friends of Danny and the concert tour features many of the musicians who played in bands or jammed with Danny while he was alive, as well as many who never knew him but connect with his story. FODfest is a unique performance format: part song-swap, part jam session, part concert. Most of the participating musicians are meeting for the first time on stage.

Play wonderful music while making new friends and having a great time!

Seven paid sessions, Tuesdays at 7 PM: November 4, 11, 18 and 25, December 2, 9
and 16.
* Open to all instrumentalists who play and read music at at least an intermediate
level
* Study with an internationally recognized master instructor
* Learn tunes from the diverse klezmer tradition
* Develop tools for improvisation

Northeastern University will present the only Boston appearance by the renowned
Jerusalem Academy Chamber Choir, under the direction of Prof. Stanley Sperber. The Academy Choir, now in its 40th season, iis considered one of Israel’s finest vocal ensembles, performing frequently with
the Israel Philharmonic and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. This will be the first concert on the choir’s
American tour. Also on the program will be the Northeastern University Chamber Chorus and the Zamir
