The contents are a variety of Jewish songsters and published books of Jewish music. Irene Heskes wrote the scope and content notes for this collection, explaining the usefulness of the collection for studying showing: “Changes in melodic and literary styles indicate socio-ethnic and historic influences upon the tastes of a singing people – young and adult, amateur and professional.”
