Long time faculty member, Milton Babbitt’s 90th Birthday will be celebrated with a special concert on March 27 at 8pm at Paul Hall. Julliard faculty, alumni, and students will be joined by Joel Sachs and Continuum for an all Babbitt program. Featured works include Beaten Paths (1988), Melismata (1982), Manifold Music (1995), Concerto piccolino (1999) and More Melismata (2005). Artists will include Thomas Kolor, marimba, violinist William Harvey, organist Gregory D’Agostino and vibaphonist, Thomas Kolor. Christopher Gross, cello and Lucy Shelton, soprano, Cheryl Seltzer and Joel Sachs, pianists.
