Founded in 1967, IMS furthers musicological research and aids in the musical life in Israel. There are about 200 IMS members in Israel. IMS publishes Min-ad: Israel Studies in Musicology Online. The IMS is supported by the Musicology Departments of the Hebrew University, Tel-Aviv University and Bar-Ilan University. Dr. Elisheva Rigbi is the current Chairperson of the society.
