METROPOLITAN KLEZMER returns to Eldridge Street Synagogue:
FREE & open to the public! Outdoors as weather permits. In case of inclement weather, performance will be located in the synagogue’s historic, beautifully restored sanctuary. Yiddish heritage meets traditional Chinese culture, in the overlapping downtown neighborhoods of New York’s Lower East Side / Chinatown.
Metropolitan Klezmer six-piece lineup performs sets from 12PM til 4PM:
Festivities commence with klezmer parade down Eldridge Street at noon. Klezmer sets continue through the afternoon, with community encounters to include two music features with Yiddish instrumental music welcoming Chinese performers for special jam sessions.

Metropolitan Klezmer returns to play Egg Rolls & Egg Creams Festival: The Museum at Eldridge Street’s annual block party, taking place every June, is a joyous cross-cultural celebration paying homage to the Jewish and Chinese communities of our neighborhood. Enjoy FREE music, food, folk art demos and crafts, including two Metropolitan Klezmer sextet sets & our opening parade/processional! Plus Chinese opera, Yiddish and Chinese lessons, mah jongg, scribal arts and more. Special performance this year will include traditional Chinese musicians jamming on select Metropolitan Klezmer feature tunes.
