The first graduating class of Hazzanim was 2006. The Jewish Music Institute (JMI) supports “educators, cantorial soloists and other interested students” to “engage the world of Jewish music through the academic courses and certificate programs. In 2001, Michel Heymann, cantor in Luxembourg was name President of l’Association Europienne des Ministres Officiants, an organization which specializes in Jewish liturgy for the eastern part of France and surrounding areas.
